It is no secret anymore that the future is heading towards clean energy. Harsh measures towards minimizing air pollution are being considered for several years now not only in Europe but also worldwide. But are legislation and the shift to alternative vehicles the solution for pollution?

The alternatives - pros and cons

Manufacturers are following the ecological tendencies in the national and international economies. The market is already presented with the most popular alternatives - the hybrid and the plug-in hybrid. And while they aren’t such a huge change in lifestyle and drive as a regular car, they are, too, expensive to produce. Moreover - the production of the batteries doesn't seem to solve the air pollution problem. But more likely it is relocalizing it in certain, limited areas.

Battery electric vehicles seem like something everybody aims for, but many questions about their production and maintenance have no answer yet. Such as the production of the electricity required to sustain the consumption. Or the expenses for the infrastructure's changes needed.

Maybe interesting solutions can come from the rent to buy cars companies? Could they provide the customers with extra services to save them from making a huge investment?

Same question applies to all the cars for sale in the UK that are present now. Many of them are old or getting old. Are they supposed to go for scrap and if yes – who is going to pay for it?

No matter what the answers to those questions will be, one thing is certain – the world is over polluted and those answers, right on wrong, need to be found soon.
